These interns have arrived in Florence for a three-month placement thanks to the Erasmus+ program, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in their field while immersing themselves in a new cultural environment.
Hosted by the Confederazione Nazionale delle Misericordie, these young professionals are embarking on a unique learning journey that will bridge their academic studies with real-world healthcare practices.
The Confederazione Nazionale delle Misericordie: A Pillar of Socio-Medical Support in Italy
For centuries, the Misericordie have been a foundational part of Italy’s healthcare landscape, and today, they continue to make a significant impact through modern facilities and a fleet of over 2,500 vehicles. Their services span emergency medical response, social support, and community health initiatives.
Erasmus+ Program: Expanding Horizons and Building Expertise
Thanks to the Erasmus+ program, these students have the invaluable opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in a dynamic, hands-on environment. For three months, they will be involved in various roles within the Misericordie’s operations, participating in emergency response, assisting with transport for the elderly and disabled, and supporting social service initiatives that reach Florence's most vulnerable populations.
